Water Quality Regulators

Various regulatory bodies are responsible for enforcing the legislative requirements to protect the health of consumers and ensure both public supplies meet the requirements of the EU Drinking Water Directive.

Some regulators are empowered to take enforcement action against Water Undertakers who fail to enforce the Water Fittings Regulations or meet the requirements of the Water Quality Regulations.

England & Wales

The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) provides independent reassurance that water supplies in England and Wales are safe and drinking water quality is acceptable to consumers. DWI England & Wales

Northern Ireland
