Water Regs is a subscription company supporting 30 water undertakers across the UK responsible for enforcing the water fittings regulations and byelaws1, important legislation which helps protect public health by keeping water safe and preventing waste.
We are funded by water undertakers to:
We facilitate water company collaboration to share industry learning, experience and develop good practice . We provide a focal point for communications with external stakeholders on the water fittings regulations.
We act as the central hub disseminating information about the regulations and how to comply via our website, publications and social media. We engage with stakeholders.
We administer WaterSafe, a UK wide register for installers and RPZ testers, and, on behalf of some water undertakers in England and Wales, the Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme (WIAPS).
promotes awareness and knowledge of the Water Fittings Regulation and Byelaws
acts as a focal point for communications regarding the Water Regulations and related matters
provides an advisory service for and on behalf of Members on the principles and requirements of the Water Regulations
promote and give guidance to enable effective enforcement of the Water Regulations throughout the UK
participates in the development of British and European Standards on behalf of the UK Water Supply Industry
administers and promotes the WIAPS approval scheme on behalf of eighteen water undertakers in England & Wales
provides training and encourages good plumbing practice.
