Time is running out!

If you are an RPZ tester don’t forget you need to revalidate your qualification before the end of the month

Who needs to revalidate?

Anyone who holds one of the following qualifications

  • Pre 2020 City & Guilds RPZ valves testing qualification supported by a RPZ AIM 08-01 Issue 2 Conversion qualification

  • City & Guilds HXT-W17- RPZ  (issued by Hydro-X Training after 18.05.2022)

  • NICEIC Type BA verifiable backflow preventor with reduced pressure zone(issued by Develop Training Ltd  after 2.11.2021)

Why do you need to revalidate ?

It is a requirement of the RPZ AIM that testers have to be competent. But to continue to be considered as competent from the 1st of November anyone who holds the qualification listed above will need to successfully complete the transition course.

Where can you find this course?

The course can be found at https://cwubackflow.co.uk/courses/rpz-2026-transition-course/ but it only runs until the 31st of October.

What happens if you don’t revalidate?

If an RPZ tester doesn’t have this qualification from the 1st of November water undertakers, recognising RPZ testers on a site specific basis, and RPZ sector schemes will not consider someone as competent.

The only way to regain this status will be to successfully complete a recognised full RPZ tester course.

When will I next need to revalidate

Those successfully completing this course will need to revalidate within 5 years of the issue date given in their transition course qualification.

Revalidation courses will not be available straight away and unlike the transition course will cover all aspects of the RPZ AIM. They could be in person, rather than online. Full details will be published on the Water Regs UK website www.waterregsuk.co.uk in due course.
