To join WIAPS, you must hold a certificate in Water Regulations Knowledge.
Plumbing installers require a Water Regulations Knowledge certificate which covers all aspects of the regulations. Listed below are providers recognised by WIAPS, you may need to search their websites to find your nearest training centre.

The full Water Regulations Knowledge certificate can be used, as part of the qualifications criteria for Approved Plumber membership.
These certificates can also be used for membership to the following sector schemes, External Services (Groundworkers), Catering Equipment Installers and Point of Use Installers.
For scheme membership to the following sectors the Water Industry has developed specific training covering the relevant parts of the Regulations. Recognised certification and training organisations are listed separately for each sector.

Delegates will be provided with a learning manual at least three weeks before the course which must be reviewed before attending the course. These courses will be offered on a first come, first serve basis and will offer, once successfully passed, a route to becoming an approved catering installer.
Please note that a certificate in Water Regulations Knowledge is not recognised for membership for RPZ Valve Tester sector.
Applicants to the scheme must have a specific RPZ valve testing qualification to the latest Issue 2 of the Water Industry Approved Installation Method for RPZ valves (AIM 08-01) to be recognised.
